Nova Scotia released
the invitations through Express Entry draw
Nova Scotia issued new invitations to apply for a nomination for
Canadian permanent residence through its Labour Market Priorities immigration
stream on January 19.
The Number of invitations not disclose by the Province.
In this draw, candidates must have a primary occupation as a
financial officer – National
Occupation Classification (NOC) code 1114.
In order to receive an
invitation, candidates must have received a Letter of Interest from the NSNP
through Express Entry. Invited candidates must have also met the minimum work
experience requirement for the Express Entry stream they are qualified for, and
must have enough money to establish themselves in Nova Scotia, and pay the
required fees.
To apply for provincial
nomination, candidates are required to provide reference letters from their
employers and must have at least four years of work experience as a financial
officer. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or completed a program of at
least three years at an educational institution.
Candidates also needed a Canadian
Language Benchmark of at least 9
or higher in English language abilities. They must include copies of
language tests, proof of education and of a job offer with their application
for the provincial nomination. If educational
credentials were obtained outside of Canada, candidates need to include an
Educational Credential Assessment report.
Past draws through the stream have targeted programmers and media developers, automotive industry workers and nurses.
Express Entry candidates
In order to be considered for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia through the Labour Market Priorities Stream, candidates first need to have a profile in the Express Entry system.
Express Entry manages
applications for Canadian permanent residence through three federal immigration
programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled
Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Express Entry candidates are ranked
on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). They are awarded points
based on factors such as their age, work
experience, education, and language ability in English or French.
If they receive the provincial nomination from Nova Scotia, they
will automatically be awarded an additional 600 CRS points, which will
effectively guarantee that they will receive an Invitation to
Apply (ITA) in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
